How to Set or Reset your Home page:
Some how your Home page has changed. This is easy to change, usually. Internet Explorer should already be open if you are looking at this page.

  • In the address bar type in the web site you want as a home page. I currently use www.iowatelecom.net, but you can use anything you want
  • Next, at the top of the window in the Menu bar click on Tools and select Internet options
  • In the Home Page block, click on Use Current. I should change to the web site you want
  • Click on Apply and then on Ok
  • Close and Open Internet Explorer to check it out
For Dial-up, if Outlook Express disconnects from the internet after sending and receiving email:
You may be surfing the internet while Outlook Express is downloading all your email. Or maybe you are just waiting on your mail to come in and right after you receive it you notice that you are disconnected from the internet. This is another easy fix.
  • If you don't have Outlook Express open, do so
  • Click on Tools and Select Options
  • Click on the Connections tab at the top
  • Remove the check mark beside "Hang up after sending and receiving"
  • Click on Apply and then on Ok

For Dial-up, if you no longer get connection to the internet when you open Internet Explorer or Outlook Express

  • Open Internet Explorer (You do not have to be connected)
  • Click on Tools in the menu bar at the top and select Internet Options
  • Click on the Connections tab
  • About in the middle, make sure "Always dial my default connection" is selected
  • Click on Apply and Ok
  • Close Internet Explorer
If you reopen Internet Explorer without restarting your computer, you may a window popup asking you if you want to connect now or stay offline. Click on Connect now.
